As the 20th anniversary of the tragic events of 9/11 approaches, consider adding a visit to one of two local memorials honoring that day.
Morris Plains 9/11 Memorial
Located at the intersection of Tabor Road and Route 202, this memorial consists of three steel beams from the area of the 93rd floor of One World Trade Center, still bolted together yet twisted and bearing the original markings of their placement in the early 1970s. They are mounted in the center of a paved viewing area surrounded by patriotic flags and are adjacent to a lovely park with a gazebo.
