When it comes to the Winter, we’re thinking of food that warms you up from the inside out. Whether you want something light just to take the edge off, or you’re looking for heartier fare to fill you to the brim, there are plenty of options. We’ve rounded up a few favorites in the area that we’re currently crushing on… let’s dig in!

Carmel Haifa
We love the platters at Carmel Haifa, and the Chicken Schwarma is no exception. A solid option for lunch or dinner, it comes with rice, pita bread, salad, and Marina Bread. Filling and reasonably priced, just make sure you save room for their light and flaky baklava.

Hibiscus pop up
Hibiscus Pop Up is new to Morris Plains, and their fast casual take on Caribbean food is downright delicious. Since it was our first time visiting, we asked for their recommendations and the ribs and macaroni & cheese did not disappoint.

Hummus Republic
The build-your-own concept at Hummus Republic is a great way to cater to your personal tastes, and we love adding couscous, olives, pickled cabbage, feta, and tahini dressing to the mushroom schwarma. So good, you’ll keep coming back for more.

Laku Sushi
The alaskan bay sushi roll from Laku Sushi is a real thing of beauty. This salmon and avocado roll features spicy salmon, masago, scallion, crunch, and spicy mayo. It’s smooth and creamy with the smallest bit of heat and textured crunch.
